Pakistan: local prices firm
Domestic lint prices have gained ground, following the lead of ICE futures. As imported cotton values have also moved higher, mills have been fairly active in purchasing from the local market. Better grades are in tight hands, though, as the quality of recent arrivals has decreased, and seed cotton prices remain firm.
Quotes for Sindh cotton have increased to Rs. 17,800-18,400 per maund (approximately 79.40 cents per lb), ex gin, while those for Punjab lint have risen to Rs. 18,200-18,700 per maund (80.95 cents per lb at the mid-point).
The KCA Spot Rate for 2026/27 crop Grade III (staple: 1-1/16” & MIC: 3.8-4.9 NCL) has been raised by Rs. 400 to Rs. 18,200 per maund, ex gin.
