India: Gujarat ginning

The GujCot Trade Association has issued its pressing report for April. A total of 998,566 bales (169,756 tonnes) were ginned in Gujarat during the month, down from 1.01 million in March. The tally for the season so far is now 6,778,071 bales (1,152,272 tonnes), higher than the total at the same point in 2022/23, but lower than the comparable figure in all other seasons in recent memory. The total for the end of April represents 95 percent of the Cotton Association of India’s estimated final total for the state of 7.1 million bales (1.2 million tonnes).
