Egypt: export sales registrations

In the week to May 20, Alcotexa registered a further 1,400 tonnes for export, while over 4,200 were shipped. Almost all the new business was for India. Orders now amount to 87,546 tonnes, and nearly three quarters have been dispatched. The average price for Giza 94 was low at 108 cents per lb, but observers comment that this probably indicates the new registrations were actually agreed some time ago, before the recent rise in price.
