Egypt: week 44 sales registrations
Data from Alcotexa show that new sales registrations in the week to July 31 amounted to 205 tonnes, bringing the cumulative total to 88,073 tonnes (plus 17 tonnes sold as exporters’ types). Shipments during the week totalled 1,461 tonnes, leaving less than four percent of the order book still to be dispatched. All the cotton registered this week was Giza 94: old crop supplies were contracted at 188 cents per lb, while stocks from the 2020/21 crop had a price of 172 cents per lb.
