US export sales
Following several weeks of strong figures, the 2020/21 upland net sales total for the week ended March 25 fell to 78,400 bales. The figure for new sales was in fact again robust at 239,000 running bales. However, this was largely offset by cancellations of 160,600, including 126,500 for Indonesia. Increases were primarily for Vietnam (97,300 running bales), Pakistan (37,300), Turkey (28,100), Mexico (14,100) and China (13,500, net of cancellations of 24,200 bales). For 2021/22, net sales of 41,400 bales were primarily for South Korea (19,800), Vietnam (13,200) and Turkey (9,700).
Upland export shipments during the period remained strong at 324,700 running bales.
Net sales of Pima totaling 4,300 were a marketing-year low. Pima shipments were 14,300 running bales.
