Greek shipments boost Turkish imports in October
Raw cotton imports rose to 86,210 tonnes in October, compared with 40,412 the previous month and 46,876 in October 2012. The cumulative total for the first three months of the season those rose to 161,566 tonnes, compared with 133,560 during August/October 2012.
Greek cotton accounted for over half of the volume imported in October (44,406 tonnes), followed by Central Asian (19,207) and US (17,603). Smaller quantities were supplied from Syria (2,435 tonnes) and Brazil (1,330).
