ICE cotton modestly higher


 

Nearby months were trading on gains ranging between 5 to 10 points by 1145 GMT. March ’26 futures opened at 64.63 cents/lb (unch) and fell under pressure early in the session, dropping to an intraday low of 64.52 cents/lb (-11) within the first 10 minutes. The most active contract slowly gained ground over the next few hours, moving 17 points higher around 0545 GMT before meeting resistance and falling back to just below unchanged by 0945 GMT. Buyers returned, lifting the nearby month to an intraday high of 64.83 cents/lb (+20) over the next hour and a half and by 1145 GMT, March cotton had moved off its high but was still trading on positive territory and up 10 points.

 

Cotton futures on China’s ZCE settled higher overnight. By midday, the US dollar was trading higher, as well as corn and soybeans while wheat was trending lower.

 

Volume was estimated at 3,500 contracts and nearby months were trading as follows by 1145 GMT:
