India: local prices
Shankar-6 is today quoted in the local market at the slightly firmer price of ₹32,700 per candy, ex-gin, equivalent to around 55.75 US cents per lb. The Cotton Corporation’s floor price for export for Shankar-6 28.5 mm from Ahmedabad is 66.20 cents per lb, FOB.
Remnant arrivals from the 2019/20 crop have continued to dwindle, and today are estimated at just over 10,000 lint equivalent bales, the bulk from Gujarat.
