Burkina Faso sets seed cotton price

Burkina Faso is the latest Franc Zone producer to declare the seed cotton price for the 2020/21 season. The value for first choice seed cotton is reduced from last season’s FCFA 265 per kilo to 240 (minus nine percent). Input prices have been maintained at the levels in force during the 2019/20 campaign. Earlier, Mali announced a greater reduction of 22 percent (once a government bonus is taken into account), while Togo last month lowered its price by 15 percent. Announcements from elsewhere in the region are understood to be imminent.
