Pakistan: local cotton prices remain unchanged
Unchanged conditions have prevailed in the cotton market, with domestic prices more or less maintained within their recent range of between Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 7,300 per maund, ex-gin, for desirable lots. However, a lack of active mill buying has resulted in most ginners remaining keen sellers and thus they have been willing to discount prices and offer attractive payment terms for the buyers. Most of the hand-to-mouth spinners that require domestic supplies have only been willing to buy on credit terms. The overall volume of business has remained low.
